The show is set in 1995 and follows Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciotti. For the summer, she stays with her grandparents Red and Kitty in Point Place, Wisconsin. In the small town, Leia finds herself forging new connections as she navigates her way through adolescence.
