Bollywood has always been fascinated by the city of Varanasi. Films like Banaras, Raanjhanaa, Ghatak, Ram Teri Ganga Maili and many others have been shot in the city, which is famous for its gorgeous Ganga ghats.

However director Chandraprakash Dwivedi tries to explore the 'ugly' side of Varanasi, in Mohalla Assi, a film starring Sunny Deol, Sakshi Tanwar, Ravi Kishan, Saurabh Shukla, Mukesh Tiwari, Rajendra Gupta, Mithilesh Chaturvedi and Seema Azmi in key roles.

Containing a slew of cuss words, the trailer has already caused a stir on social media. The makers have dared to unfold the dark truth of the city, glimpses of which are evident from the trailer. Sample this dialogue,"Hum ghaat ko picnic spot aur Ganga ko swimming pool nahi hone denge."The film seems unapologetic about bringing forth the dirty secrets of the pious city, out in the open. Sunny Deol, who has earlier shot in Varanasi forGhatak, is in a never-seen-before avatar inMohalla Assi. Sakshi Tanwar, too, packs in a surprise when she abuses without batting an eyelid.
