If the latest buzz doing the rounds of industry circles is to be believed then Arjun Kapoor has replaced Shahid Kapoor in Farzi. Apparently, Farzi was scheduled to go on floors in November last year, before the director duo's (Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK) other film, 'Happy Ending' released. However, that didn't happen so the shoot was pushed to December. In December, Shahid began shooting for 'Shandaar' in London and returned to India only in February. Post that he took up Abhishek Chaubey's 'Udta Punjab' and around the same time his wedding was announced.
According to a source the shoot of 'Farzi' was going for a toss owing to Shahid's schedule. "A lot of back and forth happened and Raj and DK tried working out Shahid's dates but nothing materialised. Also, the directors were keen on beginning the shoot soon and it's certain that Shahid will promote 'Shandaar' soon after his wedding. Therefore, they thought of replacing the actor and got Arjun Kapoor on board instead."
Nawazuddin plays a cop and Kriti will now play Arjun Kapoor's love interest in the film.
While Shahid Kapoor remained unavailable for comment, Arjun Kapoor's spokesperson says, "Arjun apart from Balki's next is considering several scripts at the moment. When he does make a choice, the producers will make an official announcement about the same."
