Farhan Akhtar did a cameo in his last film Dil Dhadakne Do. He had a short yet impactful role in the film.

When director Zoya Akhtar narrated Farhan's character to him, he really liked the character. Even though it was small, he liked the character so much that he decided to play it. He strongly felt that the character voices the ideology of MARD, a platform created by Farhan that is about gender equality.

In fact, Farhan played Sunny's character in Dil Dhadakne Do because of the stance it takes in the film. It is in tandem with what he believes in real life.
