Sanjay Dutt released after serving jail sentence
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt finally walked out a free man from the Yerwada Central Jail here on Thursday after serving a 42-month prison term.

Present to receive him outside the jail amidst tight security were his wife Manyata and their children, sister and former MP Priya Dutt and her family, film director Rajkumar Hirani, thousands of fans, a huge media contingent from across India and abroad.

Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to undergo five years rigorous imprisonment for illegal possession of arms during the March 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Arrested in 1993, he had already served 18 months as an undertrial and then returned to jail in May 2013 to serve the remaining 42 months of his sentence.


Shortly after he walked out, the actor drove to Pune airport to board a chartered plane to Mumbai.

Finally, after reaching his home at Mumbai from Yerwada, Sanju Baba is on his way to Siddhivinayak temple to take Bappa's blessings from where he will go to his mother's grave at Badakabristan.
