Television artist Pawan Shankar's show "Siddhant" has been nominated to the final round of the 34th International EMMY Awards in the Drama category.
It will compete with other spectacular international serials in the finals on Nov 20 in New York.
"An Emmy for a TV serial is as good as an Oscar for a film. So naturally I am very thrilled about it. I am sure 'Siddhant' will make us all proud in New York very soon," said
Pawan.
"Siddhant", produced by B.A.G Films and aired on STAR One, is the first Indian show to be nominated after 10 years.
"B.A.G Films understands the responsibility and contribution of media towards the development of society. With 'Siddhanth' being nominated to the final rounds of the
International EMMY Awards, it clearly indicates that we are heading in the right direction," said Anurradha Prasad, managing director of B.A.G Films.
"Siddhanth", which is off air now, revolved around a lawyer who believed the world to be at his feet but slowly found his world crumbling around him.
Pawan's next is "Thodi Si Zameen, Thodi Sa Asmaan" in which he plays a trade union leader. The show is produced by Smriti Irani and Balaji Telefilms and will be aired on
Star Plus soon.
