We are talking about Producer-Director Mehul Kumar and the movie in question is Kitne Door Kitne Paas . KDKP stars hot-shot Fardeen Khan, who looks dashing as ever. In fact his start status has elevated further up after been signed as the ambassador for the `Provogue` clothes range. To play his love interest arrives Amrita Arora, Malaika`s `choti-sis`. Both sisters have something in common - they both have been VJ`s for music channels. But they are contrasting in terms of look and appearance. Whereas Malaika has a kind of sensuality woven around her, Amrita has a child like innocence inside her.

Now coming to the music part of KDKP. Well...as the title suggesta, the movie is a love story and when the lead roles are played by youngsters like Fardeen and Amrita , then there is no doubt that the emphasis will be primarily on love songs ( as most of the hindi movie songs are!!!). Sanjeev Darshan compose and Anand Bakshi, Anwar Sagar and Abbas pen the lyrics. Two songs that stand out of in-total six tracks are the title song `Kine Door Kitne Paas` and `Rulati Hai Mohabbatein`.

The number one factor that makes the title song enjoyable are the trademark lyrics by Anand Bakshi. They are romantic as ever and convey the emotions in a sweet and simple manner without going too much into poetry. Couple to this the melodious music and matured vocals of Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy and the job is well done. This number will certainly be remembered for some time to come. After `Tadap Tadap` from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam`, KK has created a special niche for himself in the category of those singers who can express pain, anguish, intensity and suffering through their vocals so very effectively without the song becoming a drag. The same holds for the number `Rulati Hai Mohabbatein` that makes for repeated listening. Well `Mohabbat - the love` really makes one laugh, cry, suffer and what not, and the song is all about that which has lyrics by Anwar Sagar!!!

And Hello!!! Whatever happened to the cassette cover of the album which wrongly displays the singer in `Ji Jeend Jaan Jawani Janam` as Alka Yagnik although the song is rendered by Kavita Krishnamurthy!! Sonu Nigam joins her in this Punjabi based track. It is one run-of-the-mill kind and is just come-and-go!!! Nothing great about it!

`Humko Mohabbat Dhoond Rahi Thi` is a dull number by Roop Kumar Rathod and Jayshree Shivram. It is a slow song with a very routine music and can be conveniently skipped.Sanjeev Darshan`s love for Arabian music surfaces again in `Diwana Dil Hai Mera` after `Kaali Nagin Ke Jaisi` (Mann). Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan enjoy singing this one and though the lyrics by Abbas are ordinary, good composition more than makes up for it.Song `Yaar Main India Chala` is about a guy who is planning to go back to his `maatrabhoomi` as supposedly his `gharwaalon` have chosen a bride for him. The guy is all excited about his bride-to-be and shares his happiness with the friends there in `saat samundar paar`. Sonu Nigam sings for this guy and Mohd Aziz croons for the friend. Overall a feel-good number.

In all, the music of KDKP is average with at least two fairly enjoyable tracks - the title song and `Rulati Hai Mohabbatein`.
