According to the comedy group, the best and easiest solution that would ensure the release of the controversy-marred drug-themed Bollywood movie that is caught in a censorship row with the censor board is remaking the film to promote 'Indian traditions'.
The Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer movie that delves into how the youth in Punjab have succumbed to drugs has led to a tussle between the makers of the movie and the Pahlaj Nihalani headed censor board and also unleashed political sparring.
They have posted a re-jigged poster of the film that drives home that fact.
According to AIB, the filmmakers should not say 'Drugs Di Maa Di' but 'Maa Di, Jai Mata Di'. They should also add the world 'Sanskari' to Shahid Kapoor's name. They further believe that presenting Shahid as a sadhu and not a rocker will work wonders for the film.
They have also reimagined the film not as 'Udta Punjab' but 'Udta Beep', with the tagline 'Story of a Sanskari Punjabi boy and lassi.
And what about the release date? Well how about 'Shubh Mahurat'
Well it's unlikely that director Abhishek Chaubey and producer Anurag Kashyap will pay heed to these bits of advice, but there will surely be some who wouldn't mind seeing a parody film on these lines.
