The flamboyant cricketer has reportedly bought a house in south Mumbai's Worli area. The flat is said to be around 7,000 square feet and will cost the cricket star approximately Rs 34 crore.
The flat is in the C-Wing of an under-construction project in Worli called Omkar 1973.
Interestingly, Kohli will only get apartment with just four walls. He will have to get all the remaining work done including constructing rooms according his own specifications.
A source from the builder's office said, "The project has flats on bare shell 'Bespoke' model, which means the flats can be designed as per the owner's style and taste. The builder offers only a floor, with no columns in between. It's like a playground and the owner can make anything inside. One can have any size of bedroom to a king size hall, or a study.`
In this case, the owner of the flat will have to take the design to the builder who has already appointed a designer who will act as a guide. `There are certain service ducts and pipes which are of importance and we cannot afford to damage them in any way.`
When contacted, the spokesperson from the developer side said, `We do not comment on individual deals and also on our clients.`
People close to Kohli claimed they were unaware about the deal and couldn't comment on his personal life.
Virat has been seen in Mumbai quite a lot lately. He was spotted with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma recently. Though there are reports that the two have put their brief tiff behind them and are giving their relationship another chance.
Kohli had also organised a charity football match between Bollywood celebs and cricketers recently in Mumbai. The Virat Kohli Foundation had joined hands with Abhishek Bachchan's Playing for Humanity for the Clasico football match.
He had also held a charity auction and dinner on June 3 at Mumbai's Hyatt Regency hotel to raise funds for Smile Foundation, a NGO that works towards the cause of empowering underprivileged children and youth.
