SRK is known to take the roads less taken and he proved it by dancing on a moving train in the super hit song, "Chaiyya Chaiyya" from 'Dil Se.' It was a visual treat for the audience who couldn't stop raving about the "out of the box" idea and execution!
Even in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,' we see an important sequence being shot where Kajol bids goodbye to SRK, while she is departing on a train. In 'Main Hoon Na,' we see SRK's introductory scene on a platform, just coming out of a train. In the critically acclaimed 'Swades' too, we see Shah Rukh playing a commoner travelling in a crowded train.
In 'Veer Zaara' we see him professing his love for Preity Zinta just as she is about to board her train, and how he is left disheartened and teary-eyed at the platform as her train departs. We've always associated romance with King Khan, even in the context of trains and emotional sequences being shot there, but change came with 'Ra. One' where he shot a thrilling action sequence on a train, leaving the audience spellbound!
But the audience was struck with nostalgia when SRK recreated the famous DDLJ train sequence by giving his hand out to Deepika Padukone, helping her get on to the train in 'Chennai Express.'
Trains have been an integral part of Shah Rukh's cinematic journey. It is ironical that the first time he had visited Mumbai, he had taken a train from Delhi, and tomorrow he's all set to take a train from Mumbai and head to his hometown Delhi for the promotions of his much awaited film 'Raees.'
Life has indeed taken a full circle for King Khan.
'Raees' is creating enormous anticipation among the audience who are all set to watch it at a theatre near them on 25th January, 2017.
Raees is helmed by National award winning director Rahul Dholakia and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Mahira Khan in addition to Shahrukh Khan playing the titular role.
