Recently Ranbir Kapoor who is palying Sanjay Dutt in the upcoming biopic has put on 13 kg for the role. Now we got to know that after puuting on weight and mastering Sanju Baba's style now Ranbir Kapoor is also going to spend a week in Bhopal Jail to get first-hand experience of what the actor went through. Sanjay Dutt spent a lot of time in Pune's Yerwada Jail for illegal possession of arms.
This definitely will be a film to look forward to as it is directed by Rajkumar Hirani, who made the Munna Bhai series with Sanjay Dutt. They go a long way, which is why the film is expected to have sensitivity and insight. While Paresh Rawal has been roped in for Sunil Dutt's role, Sonam Kapoor plays Sanjay's earlier love interest. Vicky Kaushal is his friend from the US, Anushka Sharma essays the role of a journalist and Manisha Koirala plays Nargis, Sanjay's mother, whose death in 1981 from pancreatic cancer, affected him deeply.
News also has it that Aamir Khan is miffed with Hirani for not offering him the lead role in the film. Hirani did offer Khan the role of Sunil Dutt to which he replied, "I thought you were coming to narrate the role of Sanjay Dutt. I am not interested in playing the role of his father." Would Aamir Khan have played a better Sanjay Dutt than Ranbir Kapoor? It is food for thought.
