Akshay Kumar's Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is all set to hit the big screen this Friday on August 11 and the expectations from one of Bollywood's most bankable stars is also on the rise.

According to a report in Variety Magazine, Akshay has been tagged as Bollywood's banker who has been churning out hit after hit, including Rustom, Airlift and the Jolly LLB franchise. His upcoming film is considered to be a game changer in the international market this time as the makers have decided to tap 'non-traditional territories' like Japan and Chile, suggested the report.

Bollywood films have been stepping up their game lately for the untapped international market, considering the spectacular success of Aamir Khan's Dangal in China.

Variety reports that the traditional Indian cinema overseas market comprises of around 50 territories including USA, UK, the Gulf countries, Australia and New Zealand. The producers and distributors of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha are expanding their reach to a newer level by adding 20 more territories such as Greece, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Croatia, Estonia and Latvia.

The Bollywood industry has shot at most of these locations before but never has an Indian film released in these markets before. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha becomes the first one to do so.

Prerna Arora and Arjun N Kapoor of Kriarj Entertainment, the producers of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, commented on the same saying `With Rustom widely accepted and loved across the world, we were emboldened to go for a bigger and more aggressive release,".

Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, KriArj Entertainment, Neeraj Pandey, Plan C Studios, Cape of Good Films LLP and Abundantia Entertainment, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film will release in cinemas on 11th August, 2017.
