National Award winning popular Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta is eager to make her mark in Bollywood where she is eyeing performance oriented role.

Interacting with the media here, the petite actress, who is presently shooting for 'Gauri - The unborn' opposite Atul Kulkarni and Anupam Kher, says she was eager to portray performance oriented roles in Mumbai's tinsel town and she was happy that she had got an opportunity to essay challenging characters in the few films she is doing at present. 'Gauri-The unborn' is produced by R Mohan (maker of Chandni Bar and Gardish).

Rituparna is also looking forward to 'Saab Chai Paani' where she is cast opposite Sonu Sood and the film is directed by Manish Sood who has written 'Sarkar' and 'D'. The film is inspired by the hard hitting Govind Nihalani movie 'Ardha Satya'. ''Manish is very talented and does not compromise on the quality of shots. He is energetic and efficient. And Sonu is such a dedicated actor but unfortunately I did not get to work with Om Puri in the film. I really admire his work,'' Rituparna said.

She will also be seen in national award winning director Ujjwal Chatterjee's film based on a Rabindranath Tagore's Novel, starring opposite Ashmit Patel, Jackie Shroff and Anuj Shawney.

I want to create a niche in both commercial and Art films. Infact its fun to do the dance routine and running around trees bit.'' To a question on whether she is being cast opposite Madhavan in M S Sathyu's 'Neecha Aasman', Rituparna said it was too early to speak on the film.

The actress revealed that Bengali films are also being shot overseas and she had recently completed the schedule of her forthcoming Bengali film opposite Rahul Bose, and Raima Sen called 'Anuranon' which is the first Bengali film to be filmed in London.

There is a project with actor Kay Kay Menon, the star of Sarkar and Corporate and and will make an announcement soon.

Besides she has 'Unns' readied for release where in she portrays a glamourous role of a Model who is soft spoken, vulnerable and has an Extra-Marital affair.
