"They say success has been eluding me but I'm content with my work. I'm pretty much at peace with myself though a little more success is always welcome," he said effusively.
On the 'remake fever' gripping the industry, he said, "If someone wants to remake a film, that's his perspective. I am neither for nor against remakes. But I strongly feel that creativity shouldn't be restricted to remakes."
Aftab has high regard for Vikram Bhatt, with whom he has acted in films like "Kasoor", "Awara Paagal Deewana" and "Ankahee".
He has signed three more films with him - "Speed", "Red" and "Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi".
"Vikram and I share a healthy relationship. We have mutual respect for each other. We also share a great personal and professional rapport. We are fond of each other and he has played a large part in what I am today," said Aftab.
" 'Speed' is a hardcore action thriller. I play a negative character in the film. 'Red' is a romantic thriller with Celina Jaitley and Amrita Arora. The genre is similar to 'Kasoor'."
Apart from that there's E. Niwas's "De Taali".
"The film is a romantic comedy, essentially about friendship. It's about three friends played by Riteish Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia and me. I play this guy who wears his heart on his sleeves and is very gullible in love.
"It also stars Rimi Sen and has an interesting twist in the story."
Himesh Reshammiya has done the music for "Red" while Vishal-Shekhar has composed for "De Taali".
"The music of 'Red' is melodious while 'De Taali' has a youthful, bubbly and vibrant feel to it," he said. While on the personal front the picture is no as rosy. The actor was said to be dating Yana Gupta sometime back the pretty lady isn't much impressed with him.
Tells the 'Babuji' bombshell : "I don't think he is someone of my taste. For any relationship I think I need to know more about a person. My friendship with him is not very old. I feel he is good only as a friend and let us be so right now."
