Ankola has apparently been asked to leave Bigg Boss and report to work at Balajee immediately.
Speaking under oath of confidentialiy, a leading Balajee source said, "Salil had the audacity to pretend he was taking a holiday when he was actually going off for the game show.
Until a day before he left for the show, Salil kept up the charade. What did he think? No one would get to know where he was? Did he forget he had tv cameras monitoring his moves?"
Ekta's legal department quickly fished out Ankola's inflexible contract and reminded him that he needed to report on the sets of the daily soap Karam Apna Apna.
Says the Balajee source, "The main reason why Salil was handled legally isn't the lie that he told about his apparent holiday. It's the fact that the serial Karam Apna Apna was suffering. How can an actor simply relinquish his responsibilies to be part of a game show? Others working for Balajee like Amna Sharif were also offered Bigg Boss. They didn't jump at it. Salil did."
Interestingly, Deepak Parasher who's part of Bigg Boss is also under contract with Balajee Telefilms. "But his contract is is more flexible. However if his well," says the Balajee source.
When contacted Sony's Sandeep Sikcand sounded stoic. "This is a matter strictly between Balajee and Salil Ankola. Our legal department is looking into it. We'll go by whatever is decided. Beyond that I wouldn't like to say anything. As it is, I am being accused of making statements against Balajee that I never made."
