The year has witnessed a trend of successful underdog films based on strong female characters with Raazi and Stree emerging successful at the box office. While both the film boast of central women characters, Stree and Raazi also showcase yet another similarity with talented male actors.

The recently released horror comedy 'Stree' starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao will be surpassing the week one collection of Raazi starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal within mere five days of its release.

Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's Raazi collected 56.59 crs in 7 days and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree which also stars Rajkummar Rao has already made 54.89 crs in 5 days of its release. Looking at the way Stree is been doing such great numbers at the Box Office, it will surely surpass 1-week collection of Raazi.

Both, Stree and Raazi have strong female characters played by the commercially viable actresses Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt respectively, while talented actors like Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal are seen supporting the titular characters.

The male leads Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal have been receiving immense appreciation from the audience owing to their remarkable performances.

While the young ladies set the cash registers ringing at the box office, the actresses also set a feather in Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal's careers delivering strong box office numbers.

Earlier, Bollywood witnessed a similar trend with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan's Piku.

Both the films rest on strong female-driven stories driving the film. On one hand, Stree effectively implies respect for women in the society, while Raazi showcases women power in the field of Indian intelligence.

It is not just the actresses characters which had struck chords with the audience but also the actors like Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal were loved for their roles too.

Complete with simplicity and mystery underlining the onscreen characters of Shraddha and Alia, their films add to the Bollywood library of memorable roles.

Receiving a thumbs up from the audience as well as film critics, both Stree and Raazi are showcasing a similar trend at the box office, once again having fellow fishes Shraddha and Alia in the same tide.
