Actor Govinda has been trolled badly on social media in the past few days over his statement during the show “Aap Ki Adalat” that he was offered a role in James Cameron's “AVATAR” and not just that he also revealed that he is the person behind the title of the film as he was the one who suggested the name to the director.
As hard as it can be for the fans of the second highest-grossing film in the world (Recently taken over by Avengers: Endgame) seems like it is in fact true and Chi Chi Bhaiyya was offered “Avatar” way back in 2006. Raja Bhaiiya is no liar folks!
A close friend of Govinda who has worked with him in numerous films on the condition of staying anonymous revealed during an interview to an entertainment portal that, “Govinda was always talking about the films that were offered to him. And I remember he mentioned to me that he had been offered Avatar way back in 2006 – 2007. So, it is quite possible that this offer did come his way. Why do we have to doubt him, just because it is Hollywood and James Cameron?” exactly! Unbelievable right?
On the other hand, however, another reliable source says Govinda is confusing some other film of his titled Avatar with James Cameron's Avatar. “For your information, Govinda did work in a film titled Avatar. Though it’s complete, it has not been released. The producer is Pahlaj Nihalani. In this Avatar, Govinda plays a sports coach. The big difference is that James Cameron’s Avatar was all blue. Govinda’s Avatar is in the red,” said the source.
So, in Chi Chi Bhaiyaa's words, he was offered Avatar, it just wasn't James Cameron's, so what? It still was Avatar!
Perhaps James Cameron can now only clarify things for us. “Gareeb Aadmi Vishvaas Kare To Kispe Kare”!
