Says the actor, "I was supposed to go there with a message for Shilpa and her audience. But then the brief given to me was, no reference to anything controversial, nothing on the racial issue at all! How could I represent my country in front of millions and not make a mention of the issues that are bothering everyone?
I'd have looked like a fool. If I've to just say hello to Shilpa I'll say it at home. Why go all the way to London?" reasons Arshad wisely.
He leaves for London anyway at the end of the month. "To shoot for Vivek Agnihotri's Goal. We complete the film in three months at a stretch. I'm already missing home."
When he returns Arshad has a dilemma waiting for his attention. "I've to shoot for two films simultaneously. But I've never done that before. It's scary to keep visiting two different characters on two different sets and crew at the same time.
However the two films, Ajay Devgan's Sunday (to be directed by Rohit Shetty) and Anil Kapoor's Shortcut were too tempting to let go. So I've broken the rule, just this once."
Incidentally Lara Dutta has opted out of Shortcut. The buzz is she didn't want to be featured in a film with Arshad.
Arshad shrugs, "It couldn't have anything to do with me. Because I've no heroine opposite me. Lara was to be cast with Akshaye Khanna. So if it's anyone's loss, it's his."
