/> The prolific Rituparno Ghosh has been trying to put together a project with the Big B for two years now. A bio-pic about a Bengali film director featuring the Big B and Farhan Akhtar as father and son was crystallized, and then it fell through.

Finally Ritu will be working with the Bachchan. "It's a dream come true. Like every filmmaker in this country I dreamt of directing Amitda. But now after I've directed Jayadi (in Sunglass) I was even more keen to work with him."

Ritu has cast Bachchan as an old but passionate fading Shakespearean actor. "And therefore it has to be in English. Yes, this would be my first English-language film. It's basically the story of the actor and his relationship with a director played by Arjun Rampal, and an actress which we're yet to cast."

The film will be produced by Planman who plan to shoot the film at a stretch from February to March 2007. This would be big B's first full-length English film, though Black was also largely in that language.

Says the Big B, "I've been looking forward to working with Ritu for some time. We went through a couple of ideas which didn't work out. This one is very interesting. I've watched his work and found it sensitive. My wife and son have already worked with Ritu. Now it's my turn."
