Director Siddharth Anand who earlier proved hit mettle in action genre with Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Bang Bang' is back on Gandhi Jayanti and with 'War' he takes it to the next level!

Now let's jump straight to the story!

An agent and army officer, Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) who was sent to Syria to kill a terrorist 'Haqqani', goes rogue against his own men and shoots one of them who was guiding Kabir on his mission to to kill Haqqani and no one knows why.

A meeting is held in New Delhi regarding Kabir, one of the best of his team, going rogue inexplicably and Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) is asked to stop Kabir by any means and soon we are introduced to Khalid (Tiger Shroff) a junior of Kabir who mentors him and has now been chosen to stop him whatever it takes.

The film takes us into a flashback in the first half as Khalid remembers how he was trained by Kabir and soon, he gets confronted by his mentor who gives him a choice to know what he wants, his motive behind going rogue or his next target and eventually tells him about the latter.

But why is Kabir doing all this? What is he after and what's his motive? The answer lies in the turn that the story takes soon and it is a thrilling and gripping delight to watch on screen.

Siddharth Aanand has handled everything and everyone at his disposal in the right way. With 'War' he proves that the action genre is his speciality and that too with style and class though he should have focused a little more on the story, rather than just action, Hrithik, and Tiger's acrobatics.

The screenplay is good and has a lot of 'Seeti Maar' moments. The writers, Shridhar Raghavan and Siddharth Anand have tried to keep it tight and suspenseful and they even succeed in that keeping you glued to your seats and your eyes to the screen, though the story does take a backseat initially in the second half but gets back on track soon. The best thing is the climax which packs something that you wouldn't be able to guess.

Hrithik Roshan looks dapper in every frame as the raw and rugged officer Kabir, he steals the show every time with his larger than life screen presence and 'Greek God' looks. He is in the best form and just first class in the character of Kabir.

If you thought Tiger Shroff and his action was great in Baaghi 2, just wait till you watch War. Hats off to tiger's stunts, fitness and dedication to his character that he does total justice with.

Vaani Kapoor as Naina, Kabir's love interest, looks breathtakingly gorgeous in her character and she fits in her role nicely.

Ashutosh Rana as Colonel Luthra, Anupriya Goenka as Khalid's teammate and Soni Razdan as Khalid's mother are good in their respective roles.

The action sequences, the chase scenes and the VFX are just brilliant and shot splendidly.

The background score of the film is excellent and builds up to the suspense, thrill and excitement.

Hrithik and Tiger together on screen are the USP of 'War' and every scene that has Hrithik and Tiger together is just PAISA VASOOL!

The music and songs, the little there are nice. 'Jai Jai Shivshankar' lifts up the mood and spirit and Hrithik - Tiger's dancing Jodi is awesome. Ghunghroo is average but Vaani Kapoor makes it interesting.

Overall, 'War' is high on adrenaline-pumping action, stunts, class and style. The story is average but the unpredictable twists and surprises make up for that all this coupled with Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff makes it a must-watch!
