Singers: Amitabh Bachchan and Jiah Khan
Ratings: **1/2

The album of the ardently awaited "Nishabd" has two original compositions and 10 bonus tracks, that is, if you can call them bonus.

The Ram Gopal Varma-directed movie boasts of two splendid songs sung by the main actors - Amitabh Bachchan and Jiah Khan. The original tracks have turned out to be pleasant surprises and should surely go down well with the audiences.

"Rozana" can be termed as an awesomely romantic and sensuous number. Sung by Amitabh himself, it is a revelation that the actor could do such an amazing job with the song.

Of course, the credit should not go entirely to the singer but also to Vishal for composing brilliant music and Munna Dhiman for penning such great lyrics.

After listening to "Take lite", it seems Jiah couldn't have stayed back and let Amitabh be the only good singer in the album. Her credible efforts at the vocals are backed by composer Amar and lyricist Farhad Sajid.

The music is great with a variety of sounds and Jiah's voice suits the track. The song is fun, naughty and something that wouldn't really do badly.

The remaining 10 tracks in the album are not originals but bonus songs, out of which a majority are from Amitabh's films.

There's "Chali chali phir chali" from "Baghban" which was quite a hit when it came out.

"Come on come on" and "Kehta hai baabul" from "Baabul", "Kabhi nai" by Amitabh and Adnan Sami and "Main yahaan tu wahaan", again from "Baghban", are also there.

Then there is the fun song "Chod na re" from "Kaante" followed by "Kurti malmal di" from "Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo", another Amitabh starrer.

Then there are the Anuradha Paudwal-Sudesh Bhosle number "Meri makhna meri soniye" from "Baghban", and "Miraksam" and "Yeh kya ho raha hai" from "Waqt - Race Against Time".

"Nishabd", as an album, is quite good when you look at just the original tracks. Sung by the protagonists, they are great compositions that have done full justice to the expectations.

The album as a whole would have done well if the other 10 tracks had been avoided.
