This is great news for Vicky's fans. The preparation of this film started a few months ago and the main work will also be started within 15 days. Director Aditya Dhar spent about 6 months in the US researching for the film and also talked to several studios for the film's VFX.
According to the latest news, the shooting of Ashwatthama will start from mid of 2020 and it will be shot in many countries including New Zealand, Namibia, Tokyo, and Greenland. Aditya Dhar will tie-up with teams from different countries for this film and the VFX work of Ashwatthama will be completed in America. The film might see its release in 2021.
Director Aditya Dhar narrated the script of this film to producer Ronnie Screwvala and Vicky Kaushal after the release of 'Uri: The surgical strike' and started working on it a few days later. Ashwatthama was the son of Guru Dronacharya, an incarnation of Lord Shiva and one of the most powerful warriors of Mahabharata who was proud of his immortality. Aditya finds Ashwatthama's character quite interesting as not much has been written about him like Arjun or Karna in the epic.
