Anjori Alagh who makes her debut in Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie is very kicked up about her first project. The
actress talks about working with Vikram Bhatt in her debut vehicle, her interesting co-actors and her legacy
in acting.
In Life mein Kabhie Kabhie Anjori is playing a young college girl. Not only is she intelligent, but also knows
exactly what she wants in her life. She believes that life is all about money, and is her biggest source of
happiness.
Talking about her chance bagging the role, Anjori says that she had met Vikram Bhatt a couple of months
before Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie happened. She had taken her photographs to him, hoping that he would
keep her in mind for any of his future projects.
A couple of months later Vikram called her up and
asked her to meet with him. He narrated the role to her and she absolutely loved it. And that was it. Isn't
Anjori lucky?
According to Anjori, Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie is an episodic film.
It's the story of five friends. They
have a bet as to who is going to be the happiest amongst them. And in five years the happiest friend will win
the bet. Each character has a different outlook towards life and about the things that will make them
happy.
One believes its fame, the other believes its power, and the character Anjori plays believes
its money. The film is about the journey of these five friends' and the ups and downs that they face and of
course, the one who wins the bet.
Anjori says that despite being a new comer in Bollywood, she is lucky to have received the guidance and
support of senior co-actors like Dino and Aftab. "The entire cast of Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie was very
supportive.
For a new comer the most important aspect is to try and be comfortable. My co-actors
made me very comfortable on the sets. They did not make me feel like I was a new comer. At the same
time, a lot of things were new to me and I would ask them several questions. They all helped me out, and
were encouraging.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with all my co –actors," says an
obliged Anjori.
Talk to Anjori about Vikram Bhatt and Anjori goes ecstatic.
"Firstly, I am very grateful to Vikram for
having so much faith in me and offering me such a challenging role. And secondly, Vikram is a phenomenal
director. As a newcomer, he put all my fears and apprehensions to rest and made me feel very comfortable.
He has a very clear vision of his characters and pays attention to every detail.
He knows what he
wants from his characters and knows how to take a good performance out of you. He is not only inspiring,
but also pushes you to do better and better every time. I am so thankful to God that I have done my debut
film with Vikram Bhatt," says the petite actress.
For Anjori, shooting for this film has been an amazing experience. On many accounts it was a first for
Anjori. From doing a dance sequence to doing an intense scene, everything was new. She says that every
moment of the shoot was memorable for her.
Well, don't think that Anjori landed up the role as a complete novice. She has done an acting course in
Stanford University and then went on to major in theatre in University. The basic course taught me the
understanding of a script and character analysis.
The advanced courses concentrated on voice
developing designed to improve vocal power, projection and expressiveness; movement improvisation which
enhanced creative expression, and finally acting techniques which emphasized on creating a role through
the study of characters in significant play texts.
Today she firmly believes that one needs to be talented, but at the same time acting classes improve your
skills.
According to her, "A couple of weeks before I started shooting, I read through all the notes I
had made in college from my acting courses. But saying that, there is so much that you learn when you are
on the set. Every day was a new learning experience."
Anjori is equally grateful to her mother Maya Alagh, a well known actress, and has received able guidance
from her as well. When it comes to her mother Anjori is bubbly.
"My mother does help me a lot.
She is my biggest critic and guides me in times of difficulty. Her opinion really matters to me. My first
couple of days of the shoot, I took my mother with me on the set.
She was critical of every
performance which made me strive to do better each time but at the same time she was a source of support
and strength for me."
Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie is set for a March 30 release and Anjori is very excited about it. She has waited for
this day for the longest time and now it's finally almost here. "I am extremely nervous as well. It's my first
film and I hope the audiences like me and my performance. I just have my fingers crossed," she admits
candidly.
After Life Mein Kabhie Kabhie, Anjori will be doing a film with Tigmanshu Dhulia. The movie has been titled
Fame. Now Anjori is excited about working with Dhulia. Hope your dreams are realised soon Anjori! -
