'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' is a biographical film based on the life of the first Indian female pilot in combat who went on the Kargil war. In the film, it has been showcased how she proves her worth and able to make her presence in a typical man's world. But now, the IAF has written a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) objecting to certain scenes in the movie, raising an objection on portraying IAF in an undue negative light.
Last month, after the release of Sony Liv web-series `Avrodh the Siege Within` which was based on the true event of 'Uri attack' and following the surgical strikes, the Defence Ministry had written a letter to the CBFC raising strong objections to the depiction of armed forces personnel in the web series.
According to the Indian Express report, "The ministry had received some complaints raising strong objections about the portrayal of Indian Army personnel and the military uniform in an insulting manner."
'Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl' is a biographical film directed by Sharan Sharma and produced under Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, which is streaming on Netflix.
