On Saturday, 'Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi' fame actress Payal Ghosh claimed that the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap sexually assaulted her. Along with him, Payal has also reportedly dragged celebrities like Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, and Mahie Gill in the #MeToo controversy. Now after her allegations, Richa issued a press statement after her name was mentioned in the allegations. The actress is quite upset with the assertions but also believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs.

Richa shared the press statement on Instagram via her lawyer Saveena Bedi Sachar and condemns the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged into the #MeToo controversy. Her post reads as, "Our Client 'Ms. Richa Chadda', condemns the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged in a defamatory manner into controversies and allegations being recently raised by third parties. Though our Client believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs, some legislations are intended to ensure that women have equal standing in their workplace and to ensure that they have a cordial workplace in which their dignity and self-respect is protected."
