Shahrukh Khan might have taken a break from films after Anand L Rai's Zero but is all prepared to work as a producer. The actor has back to back projects for his banner Red Chillies Entertainment. He has already announced the Kahaani spin-off, Bob Biswas with Abhishek Bachchan, and has also locked Arjun Kapoor for a thriller based on the Muzzafarnagar shelter home case.  

Now the superstar has taken a women-centric comic drama that will star Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Reportedly, Alia Bhatt has confirmed the film tentatively titled as Darlings. The film is a dark comedy and is a story about a South Mumbai mother-daughter duo who kidnaps the later's, abusive husband. Gully Boy star Vijay Varma will be playing the male lead in the film as Alia's husband.

as seen performing in films like Baaghi 3, Bamfaad, and Yaara will be playing a grey character in the film. Talking about Alia Bhatt's other upcoming projects, She will also be seen in Ayan Mukerji's 'Brahmastra', an action fantasy film that also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan.

She will also star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's 'Gangubai Kathiawadi', based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
