With the shutting down of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', if people thought Shah Rukh Khan, also known as King Khan, was abdicating, they were of course very wrong. Nothing
really stops SRK, neither his bad back nor flops.
Bollywood's dimpled romantic hero (who actually took off with a sneery anti-characters), Shah Rukh is back with Aditya Chopra, the director who is credited with the biggest
hit of the 90s, 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', which has just completed 600 shows in Mumbai's Maratha Mandir.
DDLJ turned around the fortunes of Yashraj Films,
putting them among the top international production and distribution houses with a massive footprint in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.
Aditya himself, who since then went on to produce superhits like 'Dhoom' and 'Dhoom 2', returns to the director's seat after seven years.
His next directorial venture
will be an action thriller and Aditya has already booked Shah Rukh Khan for the film as the solo hero. The leading lady is yet to be finalised.
While talking about SRK, the legendary AB can't be far behind. Now that the heat and dust on the Big B's big wedding ceremonies for his son Chhota B and Aishwarya, has
settled, news comes that Amitabh is being sought out to play Bahadur Shah Zafar.
Ketan Mehta, the maker of 'Mangal Pandey: The Rising', is pushing his plans to
make 'Rani Laxmibai -- The Rebel' and 'Bahadur Shah Zafar', to complete his 1857 trilogy.
Ambitiously, he is alsao keen to cast the Bachchan Bahu, Aishwarya as Rani Laxmibai, saying "Ash will be happy to do another historical after Jodha-Akbar." According to
Mehta, Ash has agreed to be a part of the project.
There's more on the First Family which just got bigger with Ash's entry into the Bachchan household.
Abhishek affectionately calls his father, 'Pa', and that little
nickname will also be the title of a film soon to be made by Balki, who has just finished Cheeni Kum with Amitabh and Tabu, a film based on the love of younger woman for
an elderly man, which will release at the end of this month.
Pa will be a comedy starring Abhishek, who will also act together again in Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar 2. Is anyone asking about the honeymoon of the just wedded couple,
or whether the new bahu will continue to work after marriage, or then about the respite the Big B needs after the big event! - (SAMPURN)
