Kangana Ranaut's 'Thalaivi' which was officially announced on the occasion of Jayalalithaa's birthday is more in the news for its biopic concept plus the audience will get the chance to see the actress for the first time in the biographical drama. In this film, Kangana Ranaut is portraying the titular role of Jayalalithaa and Arvind Swami is playing the role of M. G. Ramachandran. Apart from them, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, and Bhagyashree are also going to be seen in this political-biographical drama film. But one of the most important characters of the film after Jayalalithaa and M.G.R is V. N. Janaki (the wife of M.G.R). Now it is stated that 90s Madhoo Shah, who starred in popular films like 'Phool Aur Kaante', 'Diljale', 'Roja' and others, has come on board to live the reel-life of MGR's wife Janaki.

V. N. Janaki was an Indian politician and activist of Tamil Nadu. She was the third wife of the actor and politician M. G. Ramachandran. In the real-life, Jayalalitha and her relationship with MGR had all the elements of a roller-coaster ride. On the other side, Janaki had always made it clear in her conversation with friends that she was determined to prevent Jayalalitha from coming out on top. And the three years of illness suddenly found Janaki emerging as the person closest to MGR.

Talking about her role, Madhoo Shah told the leading entertainment portal, "I have never met Janaki Amma, but have met Jayalalithaa. She had given me the State Award for my film Roja. When I went on the stage, she had said that she liked my performance in Roja. "The director has recorded all the nuances required to play the role of Janaki Amma in a video. Before shooting, he showed us the video and asked me to reprise the character according to it. As soon as the cameras start rolling, I immerse myself into my character."

She further added, "I watch old clips of Janaki Amma and try to ace her gestures and mannerisms. She was a very subtle, yet emotional person. It takes a lot of work to replicate a person in real life, because each person has a different way of walking, talking, sitting, and these tiny details are the ones that matter the most."

'Thalaivi' is an upcoming Indian multilingual Indian biographical film directed by A. L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under their respective banners Vibri Media and Karma Media And Entertainment. The story is about the life of J. Jayalalithaa, a late politician and film actress who served six terms as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jayalalithaa. This film will be made simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. Earlier, the film was supposed to be released on June 26th, 2020, but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The film is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R. Singh under the banner of Vibri and Karma Media and Entertainment.
