Born into the Bhatt family, she is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan. After making her acting debut as a child in the 1999 thriller Sangharsh, Bhatt played her first leading role in Karan Johar's teen drama Student of the Year (2012). She went on to establish herself with starring roles in several films and wins many hearts. Today, the actress completed eight years in Bollywood. So with this let's have a look at eight massive performances given by the actress in the films.

Udta Punjab (2016)

With Udta Punjab, Alia, in her own words, has taken a huge `risk` and played the `hardest` part in her four-year-old career. After all she isn't dolled up and dancing in Punjab's lush fields. Instead, she is toiling in them as the nameless, impoverished young woman from Bihar.

Gully Boy (2019)

Alia Bhatt's stereotype defying Safeena, a character that could well be every woman's alter ego but only if we're willing to acknowledge the ugly and unloveable buried within us. Alia as Safeena was Safeena is uninhibited, sharp, ambitious, unorthodox and resilient.

Highway (2014)

Highway was Alia's second film after her debut in 2012 with Student Of The Year. Alia and her Highway character Veera were a match made in heaven. Like Veera, Alia was a city girl, cocooned in her upper-class, privileged existence throughout her life, unaware of a rougher, wild, unpredictable world outside, a farcry from her psycho-social environs.

Raazi (2018)

Raazi which became the first female-led film (non-franchise) to earn more than 100 crores and on her brilliant performance, Meghna Gulzar said, "Alia performed quite challenging scenes in the movie. She would be trembling before you say action but the moment the camera rolls, you see the performer in her taking over everything. She has raised the bar in acting for herself."

Dear Zindagi (2016)

Alia Bhatt has emerged as one of the most popular actors in the Indian film industry. Her 2016 release Dear Zindagi, made a way to the audience's hearts as the coming-of-age drama which talked about life, breakups and mental health. The film takes viewers on a roller coaster ride of emotions of the character 'Kaira' essayed by Alia Bhatt.

Student of the Year (2012)

Alia Bhatt played the role of Shanaya, a rich brat studying at a lavish college in Dehradun. Just with the first film, the actress showed that she can do portray a role that full of energy, elegance. She perfectly played the role of a girl stuck in a love triangle.

Kapoor & Sons (2016)

Alia Bhatt's role in Kapoor & Sons is one of the contemporary roles in the film. She successfully plays her role as a friend, companion and adviser. From helping Sidharth Malhotra to realizing his worth to being an advisor to Fawad, Alia Bhatt has nailed it all.

Kalank (2019)

Alia Bhatt, who has received wide acclaim for her Kathak performance in the song Ghar More Pardesiya, also acted perfectly in the role of Roop. Although the film declared flop at the box office, people loved her performance in the film despite having an assembled star cast.
