While sharing the perfect synopsis for the movie, Aamir wrote, "A hero who discovers his conscience, a heroine who finds her voice, a villain who has a change of heart, DDLJ appealed to the kinder, nicer, higher self within all of us. 25 years of a film that continues to charm the world. Thank you Adi, Kajol, Shahrukh, and the entire team of DDLJ." Check out his tweet here -

On the occasion, Kajol said in a statement shared by production banner Yash Raj Films, `I think 'DDLJ' is timeless because everybody identifies somewhere down the line with Simran and with Raj. I think they just like these characters a lot! They have liked them for years and years now and it's one of those things that you always like and probably will always like."
Even Twitter India has also launched an emoji to celebrate the 25 years of DDLJ. The film was Aditya Chopra's directorial debut and was shot in India, London, and Switzerland. DDLJ is the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema. As of 2019, over 24 years after its first release, it is still being shown at the Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai until the COVID-19 pandemic hits the theatres in 2020.
