The Hindu Sena is of the opinion that the title 'Laxmmi Bomb' mocks Hindu Goddess Laxmi's name and "hurts religious sentiments" of the Hindu community. The community has even sought proper action against the cast, crew, and of the film. The Sena has given an open threat in the complaint that they will do protest outside the cinema halls if their demand will not be met. They have also urged other members to boycott the film if there's no change in the title.
"If our demand is not fulfilled, all my Hindu Sainiks shall protest against this movie outside every Cinema hall where this movie may be screened across the nation. I request everyone belonging to the Hindu community to boycott the movie if the movie title is not changed before the release," said Vishnu Gupta, National President of Hindu Sena.
In the letter, the Hindu Sena has stated, "The name of the movie is highly derogatory and offensive in nature, the name of Hindu Goddess Laxmi, the goddess of fortune and wealth has been used in the movie title along with the word Bomb which is unacceptable to the Hindu community. In the said name of the movie, Bomb word has been used to provoke the Hindu community."
They are also of the view that the title was the "deliberate and malicious intention of outraging religious feelings of Hindus" and "insult the religious beliefs" of Hindus.
And now reportedly, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti in Bengaluru and Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha have reportedly also raised this issue saying that 'Laxmmi Bomb' promotes 'love jihad'.
Talking about the film, 'Laxmmi Bomb' is a comedy-horror film helmed by Raghava Lawrence and stars Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani the lead roles. The film is slated to release on 9 November on Disney Plus Hotstar.
