After spending seven months in the lockdown, Varun Dhawan is now finally gearing up to be back on the game. Varun will kick start his work mode from next month for Raj Mehta's comedy-horror film 'Jug Jug Jiyo'. Soon after completing Mehta's comedy film, Dhawan will go ahead with Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy and guess what, the leading lady of the film has recently finalized.

Reportedly, Kriti Sanon has been paired romantically against Varun Dhawan in Dinesh Vijan's production that has been tentatively titled as 'Bhediya'. However, the 'Heropanti' actress is yet to sign the film.

"Bhediya is a monster satire and will see Varun and Kriti playing the characters they haven't explored before. Kriti liked the concept and immediately gave her nod to the film that reunites her with Varun Dhawan five years after Rohit Shetty's Dilwale that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in the lead. Kaushik's film that's been written by Niren Bhatt is said to be diametrically different from his 2018 horror-comedy, Stree," revealed a media source.

Reportedly, the film was earlier offered to Shraddha Kapoor who declined the offer. Talking about Kriti's other projects, the actress has completed Laxman Utekar's Mimi and will shoot for Abhishek Jain's yet-untitled comedy-drama with Rajkummar Rao, Paresh Rawal, and Aparshakti Khurrana before commencing Bhediya in January 2021.
