It's been a while since Vicky Kaushal's forthcoming flick 'The Immortal Ashwatthama' was announced by filmmaker Aditya Dhar who earlier directed Vicky in 'URI: The Surgical Strike' and fans were eagerly waiting for some updates on the film. Now it seems that we have an update on this biggie.

Earlier, the rumours about female lead were coming in but now some reports suggest that Sara Ali Khan have been locked in by Aditya Dhar for playing the leading lady in the film. As per the report of a leading news portal, Sara's character will have an interesting mythological background and that she is expected to sign the dotted line in the next fortnight.

On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal has already started prepping for his role as the actor has kicked off his training in mixed martial arts for the film along with learning horse-riding and spear fighting too. Talking about Sara's role, the report said, "Sara's character has an interesting mythological arc to it. She is expected to sign within a fortnight and will start prepping from early next year. It will be shot over a span of 80-90 days at multiple locations in India and abroad such as Greece, New Zealand, Japan, and Namibia, with plenty of time devoted to post-production as it will have a lot of visual effects for which Aditya has been collaborating with studios in the West."

Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan is busy promoting her upcoming romantic-comedy film 'Coolie No. 1'. The film stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role and is directed by his dad David Dhawan. The film is all set to release on 25 December on Christmas this year. Vicky Kaushal has also some interesting projects lined up for the year on which the actor has started working.
