Rating: 2.5

Indoo Ki Jawani directed by Abir Sengupta is a story of a witty girl 'Indira Gupta' aka Indoo who's experiment with dating apps lands her into big trouble. Kiara Advani is playing Indoo in this comedy film where she goes in the quest of a suitable boy for her with whom she can try out her 'Jawani' but it seems there is no such guy. The film starts with Indoo, who is trending in Ghaziabad and from retired uncles to the teenage boys, everyone's leching on the beautiful Indira Gupta.

Here's the plot comes when Indoo is having a tough time with her boyfriend Satish (Raghav Raj Kakker) as he desperately wants to sleep with her but typical Indoo won't do it unless he asks her hand as a decent gentleman. A truly typical portrayal of Indian thinking! Then we see Sonal ( Mallika Dua), Indoo's best friend, a fun character who is a Wikipedia on what boys want, when and how. The plot picks up the pace when Sonal advises Indoo to have a one-night stand with her boyfriend Satish and guess what, she finally agrees.

Desperate Indoo lands on Satish place and her world turns upside-down when she finds Satish already sleeping with one of the girls from her colony. Broken Indoo immediately leaves her looser boyfriend and seeks a chance to try out 'Dinder' suggested by her personal Wikipedia Sonal. Indoo gets a perfect chance when her parents go to another town for the admission of her brother and alone Indoo is advised to not create any trouble. But where there is Indoo, trouble follows her with full dedication.

The plot becomes much fun when Indoo finally tries her hands on Dinder and finds a perfect match, Samar (Aditya Seal) for herself on the first right swipe. After a brief chat, Indoo invites him at her place and the same day, she finds out from Prem uncle, Ranjit uncle and Pran uncle that a terrorist from Pakistan is roaming in Ghaziabad. The fun begins when Indoo tries to get intimate with Samar but his passport falls down and that's when Indoo learns that Samar, who she is imagining as her perfect match is actually a Pakistani.

The story can be termed as a bit entertaining as the plot is quite exclusive and intriguing but the screenplay has not done full justice to the story. The film holds your attention initially but loses its grip later on when the screenplay feels dragged. The so-called comedy film could have done better but its poor dialogues and not so funny punches made it fall down. Kiara Advani as Indoo is a beautiful small-town girl who has been portrayed as a typical teen girl who desperately wants to enjoy her adulthood. Kiara has impressed with her accent and overall performance but again, sluggish writing can ruin the whole story.

Mallika Dua as Sonal is the most savage and witty character who manages to create some laughs with her strong and natural performance. Aditya Seal as Samar is fitting but fails to create a chemistry with Kiara in the film. However, their songs together are fun to watch on the big screen. Overall, the film is a decent entertainer but one can't expect much from it. The film's take on today's dating apps and the stigma attached to it are portrayed in a good manner. You can watch Indoo Ki Jawani if you are absolutely free!
