There was a lot of thinking for the title song of the film and the unanimous choice was Bappi Lahiri. The reason being that Bappi had earlier sung two songs on Bombay ‘mumbai se aaya mera dost' and ‘mumbai nagariya', which were huge hits.
Thus, banking upon the opportunity, Bappi was roped in for the title song, which also has the word ‘Bombay' in it.
The lyrics have been penned by Shabbir Ahmed and the music has been composed by music arranger-turned-composer Nitin Shanker. Praising Nitin, ace music composer Bappi Lahiri says, "Nitin is a good composer and one will surely see the effort and the talent in the songs."
The other singers include names like Zubin and a Pakistani newcomer Shela Barni. Shela was here in Mumbai to record a music video and when Yunis Lakadwala and producer Humayun heard her, she was offered her first playback assignment.
The songs of this film are modern, yet easy going keeping in mind the taste of the masses. All the singers are confident that not just the film, but also the songs will appeal to the masses.
