Says Abhishek, "Even while we were shooting Jhoom..we knew the humour, being so unprecedented, would take time to find its groove among the audiences. Shaad and we all knew a lot of the audience wouldn't get the point. But we were sure Jhoom would find its level. If you remenber, Bunty Aur Babli too unsettled the audience initially."
Obviously after Guru Abhishek would rather do the unexpected at this stage of his career and wait patiently for it to register among audiences, rather than fall for the tried and tested formula.
The same goes for his stupendous performance at IIFA last weekend. "The fun part of it was that I had a whole congregation of dhol players joining me. I must confess I've never had so much fun dancing on stage before."
The fact that his newly -married spouse Aishwarya Rai was watching him and even joined him from her seat with a few Bhangra movements with her hands, made this performance super-special for the ecstatic groom.
