`There was a slight phase where we felt, we had made fewer films in the last 1-1.5 years, so we thought this was a very correct opportunity to bring 'Tumbbad'. And the response is very overwhelming and lovely,` said Aanand while revealing the reason behind the decision to re-release the film.
Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, 'Tumbbad' had emerged as a critical success, and it had earned eight nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards. The makers have also announced the sequel to the folk-horror film. Currently, Aanand L Rai is gearing up for his upcoming releases. The filmmaker is teaming up with Dhanush for a new film titled 'Tere Ishk Mein'. The film's shoot is slated to commence from January, 2025. He also has 'Nakhrewaalii' in the pipeline, which will see debutants Pragati Srivastava and Ansh Duggal sharing the screen space.
