The much-anticipated trailer for the upcoming film, Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani, has been released, giving audiences a first look at a heartfelt and humorous love story. The film follows Amar, portrayed by Sunny Singh, as he navigates societal pressures and his personal journey toward self-acceptance. Amar, a sweet and endearing Punjabi man, discovers his true sexuality and embarks on a quest for liberation. His path takes him to London, where he meets Prem, played by Aditya Seal, and the two form a deep romantic connection during their flight.

However, their relationship faces challenges when Amar is unexpectedly called back to India by his family under the guise of an emergency. Upon returning, he realizes that he has been thrust into an arranged marriage. The unfolding events put Amar and Prem's relationship to the test as they must confront their feelings and societal expectations.

Sunny Singh on His Role as Amar

Sunny Singh expressed how much he resonated with his character Amar. He describes Amar as a lovable Punjabi who deeply cherishes his family but keeps his sexuality a secret from them. According to Sunny, Amar has always longed for a meaningful and compassionate relationship, which he eventually finds with Prem, a character with a contrasting personality. The actor shared that the film beautifully and tastefully depicts same-sex relationships, allowing audiences to witness the love story in a sensitive and respectful light.

Aditya Seal on the Complexity of Prem's Character

Aditya Seal, who plays Prem, shared his insights about his character, describing Prem as someone who guards his emotions, particularly when it comes to love. Prem is portrayed as a free-spirited man who is initially hesitant to embrace love fully but eventually realizes its significance when he meets Amar. Aditya explained that portraying Prem was an interesting challenge since the character's emotional depth and vulnerability are difficult to fully experience as an actor. He also praised his co-star Pranutan Bahl, who plays a supporting role in the film, mentioning that her dry sense of humor brought joy to their time on set.

Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani is produced by Jio Studios and directed by Hardik Gajjar. It is set to stream on JioCinema starting October 4, 2024.
