After facing the music, Himesh faces the camera again. After Aap Ka Surrooor, Himesh Reshammiya is ready
to play the lead in another film. His second acting vehicle is going to be none other than Subhash Ghai's 1977
musical blockbuster Karz.
The film to be produced by T Series will feature a completely made-over Himesh without the cap dancing
singing and performing to self-composed songs.
Yes, the evergreen Laxmikant-Pyarelal songs from Ghai's blockbuster will be replaced by Himesh's tunes.
And if we keep in mind the fact that Himesh is the biggest L-P fan on this side of Manoj Kumar, we have much
to look forward to in the neo -Karz.
Giving details on the project producer Bhooshan Kumar of T Series says, "Yes we've purchased the remake
rights of Subhash Ghai's timeless classic Karz with Himesh playing Rishi Kapoor's part. Himesh has already
started working on a new look for the film. This will be his first release after Aap Ka Surror.
The rest of
the cast and director are yet to be decided. At the moment I can say this. Our Karz will be translocated to
contemporary times with a fresh music score by Himesh with whom T series has always jelled."
Though Bhooshan refuses to divulge the amount apparently a hefty sum has exchanged hands.
Adds the T Series head honcho. "We'd have loved Mr Ghai to direct the remake. But he refused arguing he
doesn't need to go back to one of his films when he's brimming over with fresh ideas. We'll decide on the
director in a week's time."
Adds Himesh, "At the moment I can only say I'm planning my look and performance. And yes this time I want
to win over the critics as well."
