Action hero Akshay Kumar livened up this week's music show "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007" when he sang for the audience after being charged up by contestant Aneek Dhar's rendition of "Mast Kalandar" from the actor's newly-released film "Hey Baby".

Aneek Dhar was no less awed by Akshay. "Akshay was very happy with my performance. He even whistled and even kept my request to smile for me the way he did in "Jaaneman". It is a very special memory which I can never forget in my life," said the budding singer.

Akshay shared some memories of his initial days in Bollywood when he had just got a break in "Khiladi". He credited Bappida (music director Bappi Lahiri, on the panel of judges of the talent hunt) for going out of his way to help him in those days of struggle for a foothold in the Hindi film industry.

With his birthday just around the corner, Akshay got a pair of Nunchaku as a surprise gift from Amanat, the contestant from Dubai. The martial art exponent showed his skills to the audience using the Nunchaku.

When the last participant Raja Hasan sang "Teri aankhen garam masala" from "Garam Masala", Akshay led all the judges on to the stage to enjoy the song. After all, who wouldn't want to do a jig with such a spirited celebrity guest.
