Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' Surges 37% on Second Sunday, Edges Closer to Rs 300 Crore Worldwide!
Demonstrating strong extended theatrical legs despite heavy box office competition from Hollywood heavyweights Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, Thalapathy Vijay’s political action drama Jana Nayagan registered a sharp 37.2% collection surge on its second Sunday (Day 11).

Directed by H. Vinoth and co-starring Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, the film capitalized on weekend family turnouts to bring its worldwide gross to ₹295.92 crore, placing it within touching distance of the ₹300 crore global milestone.

Day 11 Box Office Breakdown

India Net Collection: Jana Nayagan earned ₹10.70 crore net across all dubbed versions on Day 11, marking a 37.2% jump from Saturday’s ₹7.80 crore haul. This brings its total domestic net collection to ₹175.60 crore (₹204.92 crore India gross).

Occupancy Peaks: The Tamil version recorded an average occupancy of 61.38% across 4,321 shows nationwide, with afternoon and evening shows driving peak footfalls in Tamil Nadu.

Overseas Performance: Adding ₹3 crore ($360K) on Day 11, international markets pushed the film's overseas cumulative gross to ₹91 crore, making it the third highest-grossing Indian film overseas in 2026 so far.

Trade Verdict:

Despite absorbing initial screen-sharing pressures from Spider-Man: Brand New Day during its second weekend, Jana Nayagan’s strong second Sunday jump confirms solid holdover power among core Tamil and diaspora audiences. The film is set to comfortably cross the ₹300 crore worldwide gross mark within the next 24 to 48 hours.
