It is true that for the first time since its debut in the Olympic Games, the India hockey team has failed to qualify to play at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Even our prospects of winning medals in other categories too do not appear to be bright. But here is some solace.

A group of prominent Indians from the celluloid and sports arena will be bearing the Olypic torch for the Indian cause.

These fortunate ones include actors Saif Ali Khan and sister Soha Ali Khan along with ace tennis player Leander Paes.

Altogether, there will be six Olympic torch bearers from India who have been chosen on the basis of certain criterion. Interestingly, each one of them has displayed novelty in their respective fields.

Paes has won an Olympic medal and is also expected to compete at Beijing as one of the country's medal prospects in the men's doubles. Saif and Soha are Lenovo brand ambassadors. Lenovo is the worldwide partner of the 2008 Olympic torch relay program.

The Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch Rally will take place in New Delhi on April 17 where the torch bearers will heat things up.
