Optimystix Entertainment Pvt Ltd has created the programme and their aim is to keep the viewers in splits.
"The krazingers (the eight amateur singers from across India) will either sing popular songs to new beats, change the lyrics of the songs or completely reinvent tunes to suit the words and their imports," said Vipul D. Shah, creative head of Optimystix, while announcing the show here Tuesday.
The show has three segments. In Geetanar, the contestants sing the lyrics of one song on the tune of another. In Bhashantar, they translate a Hindi song into another language of their choice while not changing the tune of the original.
In the last segment, Googly, the contestants create a new tune of a song with lyrics of their own, but intermix it with the original composition in a back and forth manner.
The eight contestants chosen from among the hundreds who applied are Jayawardhan Verma, Ruby Jamgharwala and Sagar Acharya from Mumbai, Sandeep Roy from Jhansi, Shifa Ansari from Indore, Amar Kesari from Patna, Vikas Vish from Khandwa and Ankitaa Bhattacharji from Assam.
Bollywood actors Sachin and Perizaad Zorabian will judge the show that will be aired every Friday at 8 p.m.
