Shakti - The power is the maiden production of Sridevi. Krishna Vamsi has directed the film and Sameer and Mehboob have penned down the lyrics. Ismail Darbar has given the music for the film and even Anu Malik has given the music as guest composer. Songs are sung by various singers like Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Adnan Sami, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Mohammad Salamat, Sukhwinder Singh, Mahalaxmi, Anuradha Paudwal, Ravindra Sathe, Prakash.

Darbar's tunes are not to the mark. The tunes are highly reminiscent. It would hardly please people. The whole album is slow and it does not cater to the regular or irregular listener's pleasure.

The albums starts with a hit number Ishq Kaminaa, which is composed by a guest composer Anu Malik. This song is at the top of the charts. Alka Yagnik and Sonu Nigam have sung the song and they were quite vigorous in their renditions and their efforts to make the song upbeat stand out. Ishq Kaminaa stands out as one of the best songs in the album. It keeps the listener attentive.

At the very least, Mehboob has penned a few great lyrics, and others too quite situational. Shakti is evidently a soundtrack of lyrics. The songs seem strictly intended to enhance the situation in a detailed and slow mannerism, which do not cater to the regular or irregular listener's pleasure.

Hum Tum Miley is repeated twice in the album. Adnan Sami and Kavita Krishnamurthy sing it respectively. But Kavita Krishnamurthy stands out the winner. She makes the song more listen able with her beautiful voice. Jhoomti Ghata Mein is more of poetry than song. The song tells us a story much more than the tunes of typical music and beats. There lyrics are quite good but this song has failed to get its position in the top. At the end there is a flute piece, which is quite pleasant to hear.

It's a true melody composed by Naveen. Ek-Chand is a solo by Kavita Krishnamurthy. This song is like a storyteller. The lyrics and music are okay.

The tunes of Dhumro Baaje are quite same like tunes of fisherman's festive. There is quite some part from a famous song ‘Nimbooda' and quite some parts from ‘Dola Re' and ‘Chalak Chalak'. The song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Mahalaxmi. Mere Munna Raja is a combination of `Eek Chak Dana` and 1947 Earth's `Banno Rani`. Anuradha Paudwal sings the song. Dil Ne Pukaar tries to mix traditional music with a modern drumbeat, which has failed to keep it up.

Alka sounds terrible and the tune itself is quite boring. The song opens up with a shlok sung by Ravindra Sathe and Prakash, which no one can understand. Even Adnan Sami has contributed for this song but you cannot make him out Clinton, Kunnal, Domnic and Vivian have done the harmonies for this track. Well, we can say that the music for Shakti is neither bad nor good.
