Shibani was recently made a ‘Bakra' in her own house by the team of Tony B, a show aired on Channel V. Let's learn more about this incident and many more.
Q. How was your experience shooting for the Channel V's show with Tony B?
A. It was a very bad experience. First of all, the time, the episode got shot, I never knew that it was for some show. Their behaviour forced me to loose my cool and throw them out of the house.
Being a level- headed girl by nature, for the start, I tried making them understand to behave properly and stop asking irrelevant questions but they continued doing the same.
Well, it was only after I saw the episode on television that I realized that all that was the part of the show aired on Channel V.
Q. Given a chance what would you like to question Tony B?
A. I would only like to ask him, ‘when and how did he get attracted towards journalism?"
Q. What are you busy doing these days?
A. I am doing a film with Big Music but it would be too early to talk about it. At present I am working on a music album which would be ready in 2 months time. There are many other artists involved in this album, the video of which would be shot very soon.
Q. We have heard that you are also acting in few films?
A. Yes. Over all I am working in four films. There's a film called Osama then there's Sanjay Gupta's The Great Indian Butterfly. Both the films are due to release soon and I am very excited about it. I have also acted on a song sung by me in Sanjay Gupta's Acid Factory. This song has been picturized on me in the form of a video album.
Q. What's the name of the album you just mentioned?
A. I haven't yet thought about its name. Once the shoot is complete then only would I consider naming it.
Q. Beside acting and singing, what else do you want to do?
A. I am planning to open a music academy where kids can be trained in singing. Even though I still consider myself to be a student of singing but I would like teaching the kids. I think in another 2-3 years the work on the academy would be completed.
Q. Normally it's been seen that your song is always accompanied with you acting in the video. Does this happen due to any kind of contact?
A. It's nothing like that. I feel myself lucky that my songs always come along with a well picturized video on me. Many a times the videos help in popularizing the song.
I feel myself to be a strong live performer and this adds to be a safeguard for my songs. Along with it my strong personality too helps in attracting the eye balls. Nowadays it isn't a big thing anymore to appear in your own video.
It has become a trend now. There are many singers like Himesh, Mikka and Hard Kaur who appear in the video for which they have sung a song.
Q. Do you think that the singers still haven't got the kind of appreciation a director or an actor receives?
A. For sure. Actors have always enjoyed more fan following than a singer. One can't compete with them. Appearing on silver screen is one of the main reasons behind it.
Q. You have got a strong voice. Would you like to sing a romantic song in the future?
A. Definitely. In my first film, Yu Hota To Kya Hota, I had sung a very romantic number, Sajana Aa Bhi Jaa...Even in Sanjay Gupta's The Great Indian Butterfly, I have sung two songs out of which one is a soft number.
Q. Which one do you enjoy more, singing or acting?
A. Off course, I enjoy singing more than acting. - Rajnee Gupta
