This Sunny Deol starrer with music by Anand Raj Anand is slightly different. The reason: it does have a couple of pleasing numbers, which happens in a Sunny film most infrequently. Kumar Sanu`s Pehla Pehla Pyar Ho Gaya has a catchy tune, and the singer has been able to do a reasonably okay job in a number that does not test him too much. Ek Ladkee Bas Gayee sung by Udit Narayan and Saswati Phukan is the second decent number on the first side, and the real revelation is Phukan who has performed her part in the cut quite well.
The real letdown is Jo Pyar Tumne sung by Chitra and KK. Nobody can question that both the singers have made their best efforts, but the melody is so pseudo-Rahmanish that it simply does not work.
The flip side has a set of average songs which have nothing much to write home about. The only real bad one out here is the number Indian Indian sung by the music director. The tune is bad, and the lyrics penned by the music composer very ordinary too. It is high time somebody told the composer that he should stick to doing what he is good at: which is compose and not perform. For, he really does have a most ordinary voice.
If this film clicks at the box office, the soundtrack might do well. But if not, it is unlikely to find many buyers because it has far too many average numbers which undo the impact made by the first two songs at the very outset.
