However, the fact is that two young guys, whose films were on the verge of clashing with each other, now would have lesser competition in weeks to come. That's because Raaz - The Mystery Continues and Aloo Chaat, which were earlier said to be coming together on the same day i.e. 23rd January, would now be spaced out.
While Raaz - The Mystery Continues is sticking to it's original release date, the makers of Aloo Chaat have wisely moved their film's release to the month of February. Though the final date is yet to be closed on, there are good chances of this Aftab Shivdasani & Aamna Shariff film to be releasing on 6th February.
"Yes, we have moved the film and would now be coming in February. That also gives us good time to get our publicity plans in place for the film. It is an important release for me and I want to get a lot of thought in place for marketing it adequately before bringing it to the audience", says Robby Grewal, the director of Aloo Chaat.
Robby's fears are not unfounded though when he sounds cautious about the marketing strategy and promotional plans for Aloo Chaat. Both his directorial ventures till date, Samay (Sushmita Sen, Jackie Shroff) and MP3 - Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar (Ruslaan Mumtaz, Hazel), were well made films but lost out badly at the box office due to poor promotion and pathetic release strategy.
"I certainly don't want the mistakes to be repeated for Aloo Chaat. It has turned out so beautifully and the pairing of Aftab and Aamna is looking good too", says Robby fondly.
At the other end, Mukesh Bhatt is sure about Raaz - The Mystery Continues arriving on 23rd January. "Movies may come and announce their dates of release as before, after or the same day as Raaz - TMC; well I don't care. We fixed this date way back and that is final", says Mukesh Bhatt.
Emraan on his part is excited about the release of the film too. "I am told that the response to 'Mahi Ve' has been great ever since it has been unveiled. Well, good for the film and me.
I look forward to another success with the Bhatts, just like Jannat last year. Mohit (Suri) knows what he is doing and is pretty cued into making films across genres, especially after a series of varied subjects as seen in his Zeher, Kalyug, Woh Lamhe and Awarapan. He would be a revelation in Raaz - The Mystery Continues.
