Aamir takes on farmers' plight

Aamir Khan's next production after his current on floors Delhi Belly is going to be a film on the farmers' plight in Bhopal. The talented actor-producer-director has signed on Anusha Rizvi as director and Raghuvir Yadav who starred along with Khan in Lagaan will play the lead.

According to a report, "This yet untitled project is basically a reporter's journey to fight for the plight of farmers in the region. It deals with the issues of farmers' suicide, " says a source from the sets.

The filming for the project has already begun in Bhopal. Large amount of the film is based on Anusha's life. She was a journalist who had visited the region before she decided to turn director."

One can recollect few years back Aamir was embroiled in a controversy with the Gujarat government following his comments on the rehabilitation of farmers displaced by the Sardar Sarovar Project. It is learnt that his new film will raise the issue of the state of farmers and their exploitation.
