If you look back in history, you will recollect how precious 'that' first award was for you, for your achievement. The same thing, after a certain point, becomes a saturated virtue.

But not if you are Anil Kapoor, because this legendary actor, after the success of the Oscar winning Slumdog Millionaire, is too busy collecting one award after the other, the recent one being that from 'The Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles' (IFFLA) and 'Screen Actors Guild' on Apr 23, 2009.

Not just that, the actor also presented the world premiere of the English version of Gandhi, My Father at the opening gala night of the 2009's chapter of IFFLA, which was held at ArcLight Hollywood Cinemas. Anil's classic films including Lamhe and Viraasat were also screened at the event.

Other highlights of the event included the profiling of films made by women directors including the likes of Nandita Das' directorial debut, Firaaq, Deepa Mehta's Heaven On Earth, Sooni Taraporevala's Little Zizou and Nina Paley's animated Sita Sings The Blues.

Besides all this, in lieu of IFFLA's ongoing commitment in supporting and showcasing the restored prints of Indian classic films, the festival also paid homage to B. R. Chopra by screening his classic, Naya Daur.
