Popular actor-filmmaker-producer of the 70s and mid 80s, Joginder aka Joginder Shelly passed away on Monday June 15th in Arogyanidhi Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai. He was 65 years old. Joginder had acted in over 60
films and had also produced two and directed five five films. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
Joginder had been admitted to the hospital on June 1st since he was suffering from kidney and lever problems. His funeral took place at Juhu cremation grounds in the presence of his Bollywood colleagues and
relatives.
Joginder will always be remembered for his title role in Ranga Khush. A trained pilot, he had also worked with late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi before turning actor.
His popular films were Elaan-E-Jung, Mard,
Tiranga, Hukumat, Agnikaal and Aamir Khan-Rajnikanth starrer Aatank Hi Aatank.
His famous productions were Bindiya Aur Bandook, Do Chattane, Fauji and Yari Zindabad. His last film as an actor was
Duplicate Sholay (2002) whereas last film as a director was Ganga Aur Ranga (1994).
He had also written Dimple Kapadia starrer Aaj Kie Aurat.
